High Force is high up in the North Pennines in Teesdale
I missed this one before, I think ths is a superb image, has a bit of a fairytailish look to it. Lovely colours................ now I could have this on my wall
I agree babs, I missed it as well, would like to see a larger resolution version.
same here rolf, and the more I view it the more like it
How did we miss it?
It's great scene. I could spend hours at a place like that
Excellent Ian
Thanks everyone. I love going to High Force. Almost everyone takes their pics from a viewing platform (its almost at water level, just where the rocks are, bottom right of the pic), I walked a long way to get to the opposite bank and as high up as I could.
The amazing thing was, ten minutes before I took the shot, there was not a trace of frost and the sky was blue. It was like watching a time lapse video unfold before my eyes as the frost moved rapidly from the waterfall towards me.
The photo almost took itself. All that was whizzing around in my head was, press the shutter, press the ****** shutter.
The only manipulation was a small amount of dodging and burning.
The best image I've seen on this website since joining in March......excellent, with an 'oil painting' feel about it. I was even more impressed when I saw you say 'the only manipulation was a small amount of dodging and burning'.
I've already given it an 'excellent' and would add 'stunning' to that, but best remember you're only as good as your last shot.
Pete.
Yes, right place, right time, goes for photography and birding in equal measure, and many other aspects in life I suppose.
Pete.
