Olympus E-30, Sigma 50-500mm Lens, Sigma 150mm Macro lens, Zuiko 70-300mm lens, Sigma 50mm F1,4 lens, Extension tube, 1.4x tele-converter, Carbon FibreTripod, Monopod, Vanguard Binoculars, Celestron 80F-ED Scope, Remembird recorder.

Default Phottix Cleon II Wireless Remote Control set

Bought one of these from a Hong Kong seller on ebay the other day for the princely sum of £23 and free postage, received it yesterday, set it up which took a minute or so and had a play.

It fits neatly onto the camera hotshoe for daytime use and is very straightforward to use, a single light press will focus the camera and a further press on the button will activate the shutter, there is also an option for 2 second delay built into the unit and bulb mode for opening and closing the shutter manually.

It will apparently work up to 100 metres, although I haven't tested this to date.

    Here's a couple of pictures.

That was just a link to the product page, you need to take a photo of your Hero and upload it in the advanced posting/manage attachments panel.

Or of course you can lend it to me for a couple of weeks and I'l have a play with it and take a couple of photos of it.

    Default Issue with Cleon II

I have the same remote and I use the E420 camera. I just wanted to share with you my experience and one problem that I am facing while using this remote....may be you can help me.

When I use the "continuous shotting" throught the transmitter (with the camera set to single frame), the setup should take 5 pictures. But what happens is that the LED in the receiver blinks 5 times and the pciture is taken 3 times or 5 times only...somehow I feel that the shot gets tripped.

Any idea why it happens? Is it the problem with remote or with camera...

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers...

Hi Monk, welcome to the forum.

I haven't experienced what you say, but will test it when I get a chance, I have to replace the battery and won't be getting one for a couple of days.

Sorry Monk, just had a chance to test and on the 520 (been on holiday), it only fires two shots, sometimes three. Not a major problem, but it's probably a compatibility issue, I know Olympus keep their software very much to themselves.
