    Default Cormorant in action

Was watching the cormorant venting his wings and thought I would hang around for take off. Well he eventually took off about a metre from the wall plopping into the water when a train passed and I had to wait. I could see what was going on through the wheels of the train as it whizzed by and finally captured ................well there are 299 to the whole sequence as the eel kept escaping. Here are ten.
Sorry some are a little out of focus but he was on the move all the time

Well done Beryl, that's a fair old sized Eel as well, great even with the slight focus issues.

    Thanks Rolf.
I was really fascinated with it and I also had to keep dodging the railing. I was this side of the railway so you can imagine it was a good way out.

A super series of pics Beryl, from the first image which is really superb, to the final frame when the unfortunate Eel finally goes down......WOW!

The set also includes one of the Eel wrapped around the Cormorants neck......excellent.

Would have made a great video Beryl.

Thanks Pete. Yes it really put up a good fight.
Yes it would have made a good video but I wanted stills. My first love of photographyis still. I do like making videos though.
Here is another capture where the Eel nearly got away

This is the second montage you have done recently Beryl and they are really useful for viewing a series of images like this of the Cormorant with eel. A really good story in pictures.....well done.
