    Default Ready for off!

These three little beauties are almost ready for fledging, in fact this pic was taken last Friday and when I called here yesterday (Monday) they had gone from the nest. The Swallows nested in the toilet block at Glasson Dock (you know Glasson Dock Ian) so obviously luxury isn't necessary for these birds, and this is a second brood. They nested here last year and have probably done so for some time now though I cannot say I have ever noticed this before 2007.

Another of mine which won't win any 'Photo of the Year' awards but not too worried about that.

Great capture Pete, they really do look miserable at that age.

    Thanks Beryl/Rolf.

Tell you what Rolf I'd look a lot more miserable than this if I knew the first major task in life was to fly to Africa. As humans we cannot come to terms with the fact these creatures are able to do this and then not only find their way back to this country but - in the case of these three - arrive back here at Glasson Dock......unbelievable.

The equipment I use is a Canon 30D with Sigma 50-500mm lens. I also have a garden hide from which I take most of my pictures.

Fantastic pics Pete. You seem to have the same obsession with Glasson Dock as I do with the Yorkshire Dales LOL. Rolf is correct though, they do look a bit miserable......bit like the Man United Subs bench I suppose.
