Nice shot Paul, hope you don't mind, have added the Latin name, as it helps if people are doing web searches.
Macro photography is something I enjoy. Trouble is, I use extention tubes with the lens to get 1:1 magnification sadly I need to focus manually and the eyes not being what they used to be, its difficult.Found the best way was to pre-focus then rock backwards and forwards until the subject is sharp.(which usually means I need about half a dozen shots to hit the right point.)

I know what you mean digidark. With the raynox you have to be 8 inches away. So as you say rock back and forwards to it get into focus. I use auto focus the most on the 70 -300 mm lense but you still need to take a fair few shots.
My friend who is very into it can spen an hour just aken a picture of a spider.
I don't have quite that much Patience.
