    Default Wild carrot plant

Im pleased how this one came out. It was a blisteringly hot day on the coast in Crete last year. It was also very windy, and because of the very narrow depth of field it was difficult to snap this one as it blew backwards and forwards. I think it came out ok though

That's an amazing flower head Ross, excellent photo as well.

Not seen one, but then I haven't been to that part of the world.

If you want a quiet holiday in the sun I recommend Georgiopolis on the north coast of Crete - its so small it doesnt hold much attraction for rowdy teenagers! The main coast road runs a few hundred yards behind the village so its easy to get around the island, and its close to the best bits of the Lefkas mountains. theres a long golden beach just half a mile away which runs for miles along the bay if you are a beach lover.

Carol informs me the flower is one of the carrots but shes not sure exactly which one it is, and the pic is probably of the head going to seed. Nice detail in the pic anyway whatever it is exactly..

BTW - just where that picture was taken there is an amazing sight - a major river rises out of nowhere - it flows for miles underground and surfaces just where I took this pic. Impressive stuff - its no tiddly stream - Im talking big river here!

That's good, think it deserves its own thread though.
