caught half a dozen of these beggars trying to burrow into my outhouse are they bees or wasps can anyone identify it please
It looks to me to be a solitary bee Tom.
Wasps are yelleow an black and sort of more slender with a much more pointed tail end
Nice capture
It certainly is a bee but it is a worker bee and appears to have made a tunnel in the expanding filler foam, you will probably find a small nest at the end of it. If that is a cavity wall the nest will be between the two layers of bricks. Can be a problem to remove but if there is I would recommend contacting a local bee keeper which is what we did about 10 years ago when our tree was invaded. The bee keeper will locate the queen and once the queen is moved into a hive the other bees will follow. Please note that bees are suffering from an unknown virus that is hitting worldwide at the moment.
