Not just Wales of course, been out with a kettle today topping up and thawing the bird bath, the number of feeder visitors is dramatically increasing with the sub zero temperatures.
Yes, it's becoming expensive feeding them now, Rolf!
It took ages for the pond ice to thaw this morning when I poured boiling water on to the ice. (There were no fish below where I was poring it of course!)
I'll need to go out and refill the feeders again just now. At least that should save me having to go out first thing tomorrow if it is just as cold - or snowing!!!!
Wouldn't mind, but Sunflower seeds have gone up considerably in the last couple of years, nearly doubled in price. At least now with my sky minidish crumb catcher underneath the feeder, the dropped seeds from the Goldies are not getting soaked and the other birds are eating them.
