I have been waiting ages to capture this pair Of Common Darters to keep still. They dart about all over the place for about half ans hour and finally end up on a brick wall.
Must say the male in the first photo was very patient.

What is the term they use for when they are coupling - I remember reading it somewhere, but don't remember what it was.
The middle shot is inflight refuelling.
It is called The Mating loop (See the video)
She's well and truly collared in the middle shot. Where she has ovipositors ,he has grabbers.
