    Nikon D-40 with Sigma 150-500 and Nikon 55-200 lens

    Default Whimbrel

    Took a quick trip to Moor Green Lakes this afternoon. Immediately spied 2-3 huge scopes trained on one spot.....always a clue! There were 2 whimbrel on one of the islands....quite distant, even with a 500mm lens and tripod, so the 2 pics I've attached are the best of the bunch. You'll need to use Photo Gallery or similar to zoom further. Trust me, they are whimbrel (because the guys with the huge scopes said so!!) Beautiful afternoon.

    Oh yes I can see them, up until last summer I wouldn't have recognised one, I've bought a scope now for such occasions, problem si that it's even more to carry.
