This might be a Hummingbird Hawk moth.
I have never seen one for real . It was so fast and didn't stay around
Not a fantastic photo I know but you can see it. I have caught it at a funny angle I think

Looks like one to me, Beryl - and what a coincidence. I did a 'butterfly count' on Sunday and saw VERY briefly one of these in my garden. the first time I've seen one anywhere but in France!

I have never seen one before . It seamed to like the Willow herb But one of the tenants here who is a bird enthusiast said one hovers around the Flowers I don't know how to spell it the name begin with F and are very pretty . I tried googling the name( but I just keep getting obscene words and not the correct spelling) here in the yard

I assume you mean 'fuschia' - that's a terrible name for the auto-spell engines.. it always comes up rude At my sisters they spend a lot of time around the Butterfly bush... and a particular weed in the field-sides that I don't recognise.

Yes. Thank you . I just didn't know how to spell it and I left out the 's' and the 'h' out so you can imagine the words I was getting.
We haven't got any butterfly plants We have quite a nice selection and sort of border gardens . the tenants look after the flowers etc
