Managed to get a few pics of him at last!

The stream is just opposite our house, and he has been visiting it regularly over the past few weeks!

    Should have shown the stream!

It is fast-flowing and obviously has little fish in it!

Thanks, Rolf! Will be looking out for it again!

So far this winter I've had a Fieldfare and a Great Spotted Woodpecker in the front garden and a Little Egret just yards away!

    Really pleased about that!

    Excellent captures Catharine.

Little Egrets can be very amusing. We have them in colonies on the estuary

    Thanks, Beryl! .

We used to see them when we stayed in New Milton - at Keyhaven and Stanpit in particular, but this little guy is the first I've seen since I left Hampshire - and he's just yards from my front door!

This view shows how close to us the Little Egret is. The yellow cross is home and the blue streaks show his fishing area. I took the pics when he was in the lower area on the right.

    How lucky am I?

(There are Green Woodpeckers in that area too, I have heard them, but still to see one! Mallards frequent the area as well, and I am sure there will be many smaller birds in the shrubs and trees around there!)
