Bempton Cliffs Nature Reserve

This is a cracking reserve, breathtaking cliffs with huge colonies of sea birds and plenty of viewing areas.

You can walk for some distance along the cliff tops either side of the modern visitor centre, and there is plenty to see, the centre has toilets and there is a caterer selling drinks and snacks. Plenty of parking, no charge if you have your RSPB membership card.

Only managed to spend a couple of hours here, but have made plans to go back next spring when the Puffins are nesting.

your'e right rolf it is a fantastic place to visit. i went a couple of years ago with two friends from work. it was quite a windy day when we went. as you can imagine it was a bit blustery coming in off the north sea!!. we managed to see puffins quite close. the gannets are great too... and very large when you see them close to. we also spotted a great skua harrying the other gulls. that was an unexpected bonus!.
not too far from bempton, at the end of the m62, there is also north caves reserve... i would also reccomend bobbing in there, if you were in that vicinity again

Visitors to RSPB Bempton Cliffs often have just one request... to see the puffins - so a new programme of Puffin Patrols has been launched, specially to help them find the cliffs' cheekiest residents.
