    Default morecambe bay at silverdale.

today after a quick trip around, a very frozen leighton moss r.s.p.b., we had a walk around silverdale. the weather was absolutely stunning. crisp clear skies gave way to warm sunshine. my wife, son, grandson and myself walked down to the shoreline. i have never in my life seen a sea so calm. the phrase '' the sea was like glass'' was as apt as it could be. there was'nt even the smallest ripple. unfortunately my pics do not do justice to the amazing views across the bay. morecambe bay is one of the most important wading bird habitats in britain. the key is the rich food supply living in the mud. trecherous quicksands lie underfoot here, along with deadly tidal systems. though you would'nt think it was a very dangerous place looking at it today.
