This is the Jersey Tiger Moth
I captured this one today and on the red background shows off the colours and legs banding very nicely.
There are a couple in the forum showing one in flight that I captured last year,. This is the first one I have seen this year.
It has a wing span on 5.5 - 6 cm and flies by day. not easy to find due to it's camouflage. The underside of the wings are red
It is indigenous to the south coast of Britain Chanel Ilse and Central and Southern Europe.
