    Nikon D300,nikon 70-200 +1.7 converter. Nikon 105 mm Macro with VR Sigma 300 with X2 converter Nikon P5000 with fieldscope and Binos Nikon D7000 Nikon 17-55 mm F2.8

    Default Grey Heron.

    Taken Fri afternoon at Lea farm gravel pit. He just flew across

    Olympus Evolt E520, and borrowed lenses and flash. Fuji Finepix S7000 for Macro A chair :)

    That's nice. I'm not a big lover of Heron (all too pointy! ), but they do look good in flight. Grumpy, but good

    I am amazed at how quiet they fly compared with swans.

    Really? I would expect it to make quite a bit of noise as it's so big... interesting to know.
