Captured this little fellow along the estuary. He flew into a tree then flew down again. very hard to capture as they don't keep still for long
I find it very hard to distinguish between the Meadow Pipit and the Rock Pipit, Beryl!
I often see (what I KNOW are Rock Pipits) at Keyhaven, on the shore or the harbour wall, yet I saw one today at Milford on Sea, checking under tables for crumbs amongst the puddles - and I really wasn't sure which it was!
Nice pic!
Thank you.Catherine
A Rock Pipit has white a ring round his eye and are bigger

A Water pipit has a very light almost white under side and a prominent white stripe over the eye
And the Tree Pipit?
How many Pipits are there anyway?
I'm not sure about the tree Pipit I think it is a more lighter brown and smaller but not 100%
I think the one in the ID is a water Pipit because it has a prominent stripe over the eye and such a light under side
