I thought this was a wren but now I am not so sure. Its hard enough photographing them as well as trying to figure out what they are

I spent a few minutes trying to tell it between a Coal Tit and Great Tit at the angle it's at. But from this angle if it was a Great Tit you would see the black bib extend down its front. Also Great Tits to my eye have a more obvious black collar than a Coal Tit does, and this bird has barely any. Also a Great Tit has a more yellow colour to the underneath whereas a Coal Tit is buff, and you can see the buff colour in this photo along its side.

    Good photo!

Your info is invaluable and noted. I am learning, albeit slowly.Transferring from my preferred photo attempts (landscapes... and they don't move about a lot) I find it difficult. The images are not too difficult, but working out what I have in front of me is

Wren Ian. The bill is the ID factor with the little to go on in your pic at a bad angle.

    Pete.
Are we looking at the same photo of the bird on the side of the fat ball feeder with the black and white head, black bib, green back, light underneath and buff sides?

If you click on it you can see a bigger version?

The pic I'm looking at is obviously a Coal Tit.

Have to agree with Coal Tit
Look at the pattern of the wings and also on coal tit it has a light stripe on the wing like a Great tit and another tiny light stripe higher up which the Great Tit doesn't The Great tit also has a thick collar. A wren has a definate stripe above his eye
    Nice capture Ian
