    Default Male ?

Here is a blackcap. One of many that flocked to Bowling Green Marsh this morning.
I think it is a male because his body is grey and hers is brown.
How ever this one's cap seams more Brownish than black so I'm a little puzzled
Unless it is because his head feathers are slightly raised
So your expertise are needed pleas ?
I'm sure you are a better judge than me as you see them all the time

I've never seen a female Blackcap with anything other than a brown/red head, so this must be a male.
