Found this moth on the wall in a communal hallway and it's so hard to ID. It's about 15-20mm across, so small, that's all I can tell you.

It's distracting with that red-cast to the shot, but I reckon it's a Small Blood-vein Scopula imitaria - UKMoths, although this says they are supposed to be 26-29 mm across, Wiki says 18-25.
Thanks for that Louise and for the link to your source, I'll keep that for the future. That red cast is actually the real colour, I've just been out to look at it again and it really is a rusty sort of brown. Presumably there must be some sort of colour spread in the species!
No probs - I tried to message you to say I'd moved it but I just couldn't seem to open the message page! The reason I talk bout the red cast is because the wall comes out as pink as well as the moth looking redder than normal.
The wall does have a pinkish caste to it, all I did was drop the brightness a bit as there was a distracting sheen. Yes should have realised I'd put it in the wrong forum, sorry.
It seems to have a scalloped appearance. Could it not be the Small Scalloped Moth?

LOL - yours is a fantastic name for it!
I don't think it's the small scallop moth because the scalloping on Eddy's comes more from shading than actual shaping of the wings.. but that's the problem with moths - there are so many of them and so many are so similar - I've spent HOURS searching for ID in the last couple of weeks!
