ugly ''duckling''... well, moorhen actually!!

i spotted five tiny moorhen chicks on the canal, near to where i live. i saw them yesterday whilst walking my dog. they were grouped together in the reeds, the parent in the middle and the five chicks stood around her. it was a perfect photo opportunity...... you know the ones you get when you haven't got your camera with you!!!. anyway i went back today with my camera.
they're cute, in an ugly sort of way, are'nt they!!

I haven't seen any ducklings this year. It hardly surprises me when though idiots sit by the pond and send there dogs into chase the ducks

louise, i wasthinking the same myself. i had a shot of the chick with its' very stubby little wings raised. the just reminded me of the tiny t-rex arms.
