Winter wonderland

Took this one this afternoon half a mile down the road from our cottage. I love the contrast between the snow and the shadows.

The river is the River Tweed

It was lovely and warm in the sun, but hells bells when the wind got up it was bitterly cold out!

This one is in our valley and is half a mile down the road from the house. Another one taken this afternoon.

That area looks beautiful at any time of year, but the snow really enhances those great views!

We used to go picnics in summer - to near Tweedsmuir - when we stayed in Lanark. I remember really hot summers there.

But I'll never forget how cold it could get in winter too!
