most of my efforts are digi-scoped, using an opticron hr66 scope, pentax optio v15 digital camera and homemade adaptor.+ a panasonic lumix fz28

    Default little ringed plover.

a very windy, after tea, walk. turned up this little ringed plover, tonight.
i saw it at lightfoot pools sand quarry in preston. they turn up here every year, though numerous visits by me had failed to see one. i had done my circular walk and was just about to head home when this bird flew up just in front of me. it landed some distance behind me, so i carefully retraced my steps to get a better view. it was a bit flighty, so i could'nt get too close. the wind was blowing my tripod and scope all over the place, so blurred images were the best i could manage. i eventally got quite close but two dog walkers suddenly appeared and flushed it.....damn!!! i had'nt seen another sole all evening..... not so perfect timing!!!
anyway i was chuffed with the sighting
