tonight after tea, with the prospect of emmerdale and coronation street looming, i decided to nip out for an hour. the weather in preston today had been shocking, but the rain had cleared, leaving blinding sunshine. i went to st walburgs church..... i not getting all religious,. instead this has been a nesting place for a pair of peregrine falcons, for the past four years. st walburgs church has the tallest spire in preston and a bountiful supply of pigeons!!!. last year was the first success at producing young. three chicks hatched from four eggs. i believe that at the moment the female is incubating five eggs. so fingers crossed it may be even better this year. i spotted the male perched very high up on the steeple with his back to the blinding, late evening sun. this sunshine, made trying to get an in-focus picture near impossible ,through my scope. better than corrie anyday.......and jack duckworths' pigeons better watch out!!!
