    Default Wheatear

    The female Wheatear.

This is one of the first migrant birds to reach our shores, some arriving in early March and some not departing until November meaning a bird 'could' be in this country for up to 8 months.

Nice shot Pete, narrowly missed one back in March, it had turned up at Moor Green Lakes and one of the locals pointed me towards where he had seen it.

Echos what I said about the month if not the date they arrive here on Rolf. Incidentally, the males are usually first, if not always so.
