This is some type of rose, but I have no idea what sort. It has a lovely dark colour of leaf that really lets the pink flowers zings. I'm not a big pink lover, but sometimes it just works!
Nice . Yes very colourful
It's Rosa Glauca, one of my favourite mixed-border roses, Louise!
ROSE, GLAUCA (Rosa glauca) (R. rubrifolia) . Hedging Plants, Trees, Shrubs and Conifers.
Grows easily and quickly from seed too. Used to grow in all the gardens around ours in Lanark, obviously 'planted' by birds via their droppings!
Its purplish leaves contrast beautifully with the ordinary greens of most plants, and its small pink flowers peek cheekily out at you as if to say, 'Peek-a-boo!' The seedheads are very attractive as well and this rose does not easily succumb to pests or diseases.
Wow, Catherine - nice bit of info. I do like the less blowsy side of the rose family, and this colourscheme is particularly lovely
