    Hi Ann.

In an attempt to make the forum more easy to navigate, we set up different photo forums:

Bird photos General - Which is for standard bird photos, not included in other sections.

Aquatic Birds, Water fowl and Seabirds - Because there are so many birds which live around and on the water, we decided that they deserved their own section.

Bird in Flight - Self explanatory.

There are of course some birds which could easily fit in either of the first two sections, like Lapwing, in which case we normally make a decision as to which section and then stick to it, this makes it easier for people to search for images.

The General Section forums are for chat etc, which may include photos, but mainly to aid or promote discussion.

Regarding the Gallery, the top block of sections are for good quality identification photos, so not everything goes in there, the object being to eventually have a few good reference photos of most species there with latin names to make them easily searchable.

There is the scrapbook and action photo section for those photos which do not fit as specimen photos, but which you may wish to put up as a web presence and perhaps link to from other sites.

    Hope this explains it.
