These little ducks have to be one of the loveliest ducks there are. I think they are so cute

I love them too, Beryl, especially the colourful males!

Louise, you DO have a cruel streak - and a sense of humour rather like my husband, who loves to shout 'sage and onion' over the fence where free range chickens are kept, and suggested (with a serious expression) that the young daughter of friends of ours should call her pet rabbit 'Stew'.

Luckily, there are different ways of spelling that name....

Aww. and they have such gorgeous faces
The males whistle and the female quack like the mallards. It's amazing to hear them and hard to believe because one normally associates a duck with quacking but mallard drakes don't even quack , they make a pathetic little wee-git noise

It's funny Catherine, I do have a wicked sense of humour but but if my boyfriend saw all this he's roll about laughing - I'm the softest of things... I'll help insects out of the bus even though I get funny looks

I guess you and Glen are 'two of a kind' then, Louise!

I'm more like your brother - the quiet and studious type...!
