While celebrating this summer's Jubilee and Olympics, the public should think twice before setting off fireworks, releasing balloons and lighting sky lanterns to ensure pets, wildlife and livestock aren't frightened or even killed.

It seems strange that a lot of years ago they made it more difficult to buy fireworks and all that's happened is that the fireworks have become bigger and they're used all year round.
We've got a big red balloon stuck up our Oak tree now. Only arrived two days ago after a children's party. The remains will probably hang up there for years - unsightly and a hazard to birds and Squirrels.
