    Default Hedgehogs galore!

I empty a sachet of Whiskas' poultry meat in jelly on to a plastic plate every evening for Hedgehogs.

Normally I just see one eating it - if I see it at all - but the food has always gone in the morning. (I cover it so Cats cannot get to it!)

The first photo below is of the big Hedgehog I normally see, and taken about ten days ago. (Taken by my phone camera, which is lousy!!!)

The second one was taken by my Fuji camera last night.

I had looked out at about half nine and could clearly see a small Hedgehog running frantically around the food- and protector-from-cats cover, obviously annoyed there was no Whiskas left! Then he saw the sunflower hearts I had put there for Collared Doves (who can't feed from my feeders) earlier yesterday evening. I watched him climb on top and start to eat the seeds - so I managed to capture the moment!

The camera's flash didn't seem to bother the Hedgehog, who proceeded to gobble up the second sachet of cat food as soon as I got back into the house!

Wonderful Catherine, it's a long time since we had one in our garden.

By the way, please excuse the mess on the slabs there. That's because my big bird-feeder hangs above it!

I have a bird bath in the front garden (next to the road) - which is well used by all birds, inc. Mallards!

Thanks, Rolf! I am having a problem with my broadband connection this morning - so it took me 40 mins to do that!

Birds are messy - in particular the big woodpigeons and feral pigeons which pace up and down under the big feeder all day!
