The under-wing is the best way of separating your Common Blue from the Holly Blue Beryl......but I bet you already knew this didn't you?

Roll on the days of butterflies a'plenty......needs to warm up a little though. I've been out all day today and its still like the end of January yet, even though the days are longer. We really do have to get rid of the wind which remains so cold still.

The other day I had to sit out a hail storm, and 20 seconds after it blew over and in a cold icy wind a Skylark was singing its little head off......a strange combination of hail/icy wind/Skylark singing.

    Pete.
