Default Hares at Cernay, Eure at Loir

Went out quite early this morning in search of the Golden Oriole, but on the way I decided to stand right on the edge of the Oilseed Rape crop and see if any Hares would come within camera distance. As it happened this tactic worked quite well and after half an hour or so of standing perfectly still, I became part of the landscape.

Some really great shots there, Rolf!

The expressions in the first two are wonderful - just thinking of captions now!

Of, I'm SO jealous. I do like hares but never get the chance to see any. I've seen t he odd glimpse across a field as the car I've been travelling speeds by, but I'm never in a position to be able to stop and look. That's a great set of shots - it gives a good idea of how they move.. and how surprised they always' look

Was really pleased and surprised at how they weren't too bothered by me as long as I didn't move.

Yep, really lucky - but maybe it's because you have that same mad-eyed look, and don't look like you could run that fast
