    He was actually in company with a grey heron but herons are quite common on this lake

    Yes. They don't seam to bother each other . There is a farm along the Exe Estuary and when the tide is out about 20 or so Little Egrets and one Heron stand there in a line until the tide comes in again and in the summer there are a number of Cattle Egrets

    That's a good pic, Joe!

    The nearest we got to one at Keyhaven yesterday was about 50 yards away! (Even the Isle of Wight ferry was easier to capture!)
