    Nikon D300,nikon 70-200 +1.7 converter. Nikon 105 mm Macro with VR Sigma 300 with X2 converter Nikon P5000 with fieldscope and Binos Nikon D7000 Nikon 17-55 mm F2.8

    Default Dragonfly in flight

    This guy was flying round the same area and I thought I'd try tracking him. this is the first time I tried this.

    Wow, Joe - well done!!!
    I tried doing that but got nowhere. I'm quite impressed as they are really quite clear - all I got was a coloured blur! Did you spend long doing it?

    BTW I love the second one as it looks like it has an airplane contrail

    Louise, I watched him for about 5 minutes then realised he was not going to settle. The images I put up were cropped to show the detail. The sequence of shots took about 1 minute. Tech details D300 with 70-200 mm at 200mm F3.2 at 1/2500 secs using autofocus. Here is the complete image.
