Six-spot Burnet: Zygaena filipendulae

This moth is 3-4 cm and flys by day. The red spots are a warning to potential enamies that it is toxic
I managed to capture this after ten minutes of it swaying in the wind and the front view took about15 minutes. It was blowing a Hooley but I wasn't leaving with out my catch.

I know the feeling of standing there waiting for the branch to stop swaying. Sometimes I wonder if all that movement gets me entranced and I start swaying with it.... probably the wind stopped minutes before I did

Lol. It was like a funny film. I was begining to think it wasn't going to happen. It was swaying in an arc of almost 180 degrees almost touching the ground each side and the poor moth was hanging on for dear life

They are very tiny. You need to know whatyou are looking for really but if you see on flying it is such a vivid red you would 'nt miss it
