Well on the 1st of September me and hubby are of to Kintyre in Scotland for a week. Photographing Golden Eagles and Dolphins are on the agenda and I have just read that Buzzards can be seen on nearly every telegraph pole. Oh I cant wait
That sounds like it will be great fun. Shall look forward to seeing your posts.
Thanks Chocky, I am going to have to gen up on taking landscapes and hopefully some lovely sunsets weather permitting. Also birds in flight, can't wait counting down the weeks.
Sounds like you are going to have a great time Babs, hope the weather stays reasonable for you. Strangely enough, was only talking about a trip up to Scotland myself earlier today.
Iv'e been to Scotland twice before rolf, both times to the same place we stayed in a crofters cottage at Drimnin opposite the Isle of Mull. We were 12 mile from the nearest shop. Heaven. To me the Scottish Highlands are the most sceninc place on earth, I just love the drive through Glen Coe the ruggedness of the landscape is breathtaking. We weren't into photogaphy when we went before but we shall make up for it this time. We are staying in a Lodge in the grounds of Torrisdale Castle so we will have 1500 acres of castle estate to explore......come to think of it I may need more than a week
It's a greatplace. I lived there for three years. My youngest J J was born there in Dundee. We lived in Arbroth. Loved it there
As for the weather, I am keeping my fingers crossed, last time we went in September a few years ago the weather was glorious. Oh and it's a seven and a quater hours drive there but may take us nine or so because we will keep stopping to take photographs
What side of Scotland is Arbroath and Dundee in Chocky. Is it the same side as Mull or is it on the other coast or in the middle. The furthest we got last time was Fort William now that too. And Iona on the other side of Mull was beautiful too. Never got to Skye maybe one day. This time we plan to visit Arran and Islay
It's way above Edinburgh miles up into the actic almost to the right of Perth and on till you fall in the oggin but not as High up as Aberdeen. Lol Then Arbroth is a little higher up ..................then Dundee infact very high up on the right hand side next to the North sea.
Been past Dundee on the way to Aberdeen, sits up on a hill from memory.
Yes very high.Arbroath a littl higher up land wise. Nice place though. we lived a stone through from the north sea. Constand wind throughout the year . All sunbathing in the summer was doone in the green house lol
