News from the RSPB site
The RSPB is holding a free demonstration day in Lancashire to help you learn how to manage your fields to benefit wading birds.
Thursday 27 September 2007, 10.15 am-3.30 pm
Barkin Gate Farm, Roeburndale West, Forest of Bowland, Lancashire
Come along to this free demonstration day to learn how to manage your fields to benefit wading birds.
The numbers of wading birds such as lapwings have declined dramatically in the past 30 years due to land drainage and changes in grassland management. This event will show how you can make a real contribution to halting this decline by managing pasture for these birds whilst often improving the quality of grazing available to your stock. Learn how you can also receive payments for doing so from the government's agri-environment schemes.
