had several people say that this is a continental long tailed tit and to me the bird looks like it too what do you guys think?
Think it's one of the UK Northern birds, as it still has the tan colour on the back.
ohh, see we had just memory and rspb guide book.. is this a rare bird they seamed to think so?
Really don't know enough about the different versions, it certainly shows that patterning for UK birds in the Birds of the Western Palearctic guide.
That is very possible, Laura, as it has a very light-coloured head!
Apparently the head of the Northern species is very nearly white!
this guy had a fully white head, and pail underneath... a small group of excited twitchers kept looking at my pics again and again...
