    Default Common Tern chicks at Lavell's Lake

    Was chatting to someone in the Bittern hide yesterday about it being sad that apparently the Black-headed Gulls had killed the only three chicks of the Common Tern pair a few days ago, then to our surprise, two little heads popped up on the raft.

    Yes, I was there yesterday and took some shots. There are more terns and bhgs at Lea farm, also got a little ring plover, oyster catcher and wigeon. Will post pics later.

    Never DID like BHGs much, but now I have an excuse for feeling like that!

    Pleased the Common Tern managed to save some of their brood.

    These young ones are really fluffly!
