Default Heron on a red tiled roof!

This morning's early visitor looked very hungry - although he was dripping wet, so must have just finished breakfast!

He was looking towards a garden pond behind the house on the left of the pic.

However, I just have a feeling that he'd sampled the pond's contents already!

Great shots Catherine, love it when things appear where they would not normally be seen. One thinks nothing of seeing a Heron down by the river or estuary, but the neighbour's roof is another thing altogether.

ROFL - they look so unreal at the best of times, but up on the roof like that looks really silly

He was funny to look at, but the 'pond lady' told me that he'd taken all her fish......

So, feeling guilty I'd taken his pic then, I had to offer a few of our Goldfish and some spare pond net.

At the start of this video, you'll seem some 'courting' behaviour!

Yes, I believe that's the problem with ponds - a free takeaway for Herons. But thanks for that Goldfish clip - I've never known what fish do for courting "'Ere, darling **nudge, nudge** Wanna get busy?"

Yep - and it's a bit more than 'suggestive digestive' - though you'll be too young to remember that advert!

Last night at the supermarket I bought some wine and the lad on the till cheekily asked if I had ID (he wasn't being serious)
