Norfolk estuary

Hiya,

flew in a small group, went up quite high when they did and droped down.. They fed alone the shore line in a small estery. Reminded me of thrushes but i dont think thats what they are.

Any ideas guys and gals??

Not sure about those Billy, do you have a larger resolution photo?

If the larger bird was a Turnstone, the others must have been fairly small, Billy.

Check The RSPB: Knot on the RSPB site, Billy, as these little waders often wheel and turn as you describe - although your little birds do seem more brown in colour!

Well from looking at them, they're Bunting size and one certainly appears to have a white ring on its neck, not sure whether you'd see Snow Buntings there at this time of year.

snow buntings were seen bout 5 miles away that day on a beach, not sure if that helps... ill see if i have a better one but my lens was at its max!! poor thing got me a pic of the marsh harrier, and it was a speck!!

I wonder if they have enough white for Snow Buntings, but having looked at them again, I'm thinking they may well have been Linnets - in a flock - like the ones at Milford on Sea as here;

see they reminded me more of thrushes, than a linnet which id go along the lines of sparow esc colourings...
