Have you not watched kids in front of the TV, they certainly do.
They're just holding on it to stop their mums and dads changing the channel though.....gif "Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)")
I have a couple of teddies by the side of the bed that my mum bought me, but I don't want to cuddle them. I have my MP3 player hanging off the bedpost so that I can listen to "Hancocks Half Hour" or "Steptoe & Son" on a sleepless night... so I do sometimes end up cuddling that
My parents gave up on me pretty soon, - I've never been the "teddy bear" type of child.
The only cuddle toy I ever had was a hideous looking owl (well, actually just a little bag filled with soft material, bright orange on the front and black at the back and two eyes glued at it in the front). Which I LOVED, but even that was not allowed to stay in bed, neither were/are pillows.
Though, I always had cats and when I sleep alone, sooner or later they will cuddle up on me.
Don't the cats keep you awake? My cat is firmly shut up downstairs or she'll just try to lie on my head - even if I'm lying face upMind you, she learned how to open one of the doors so I have to put something heavy against it each night
LOL LOL LOL No, they don't keep me awake, but then I sleep like a baby, and they are very carefully anyway. LOL LOL LOL
Maybe you should try another tactic with your cat? Allow her in and sooner or later she will learn that it is not OK to sleep on your head. LOL LOL LOL
You don't know my cat - as thick as a brick - all she would learn is that if she slept on my face, I would die and she could then lie on me as long as she wanted
Here are my cuddly toys, but as you can see, the cat is not happy about them being allowed in my bedroom when she isn't....

Well, I just looked some out from the children's cupboard - and here are some of those my son had when he was young - and his children play with now! His favourite was Humpty, a pillow toy which came as a present from the USA when he was born. Humpty is therefore 33, and still much-loved (and washed...)
Also, here are the modern ones belonging to the children!
Isn't it funny? Carin mentioned an owl, and there are owls in both these groups!
hehe, see im not a teddy kid -- was caught with knife, and sheeting operating on one and removing its stuffing under the climbing frame as a kid...
Now the only thing i take to bed is the dogs, as they wont sleep on there beds, they keep moving back in on ours!!

Those Brown owls, Catherine (and I'm not talking about Guides!) were very popular a few decades ago. I suppose that Owls are a good cuddling shape.. and cheap to make

Louise, there were three in the set, given to Mike by different people in 1977. They weren't played with much - just nursery ornaments really, like most of his cuddly toys. If things didn't have wheels, he wasn't interested in them - apart from Humpty anyway!
Gizmo decided, after a thouroughly inspection that it was just an odd looking/smelling thingy and lost interest. LOL LOL LOL

And of course I loved him, which is probably the reason why I still have him. LOL LOL
BTW It is actually not a book shelf but a book wall, well walls. LOL LOL LOL LOL And not every part looks tidy I must add. :-(
Oh, it's a 'book WALL' - just like my Dutch friends have (below) - not just ordinary British-type bookshelves !
(Ours are in a 'Minty' book cupboard, so I don't have to dust them!
Niiiice - I've always wanted a book wall, but never had the money - I have a couple of book cases and a large number of piles - BOOK-piles
A book shelf just won't do it ...

But have you read them all - or even part of each?
I guess they'll provide good insulation in winter - and they do look very attractive in the wall-slots!
Being ever practical though, do they not need dusting - and getting rid of spiders, etc.?
No Catherine, I haven't read them all - yet - only abot 80% of them. LOL LOL LOL LOL
As for insulation, well it is not on an outside wall, so no effect for insulation. And yes, they do need dusting, so when was it you've said you visit? LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
I once saw a thing that showed how many books in a library you would be able to read if you read 2 or 3 a week - it was pitiful, and didn't take into account all the new books that are being published everyday. It was quite sad
I think I'll just surprise you, Carin - and inspect the book wall then..
That's where you need specially-made shelves so that the books fit exactly... then there is no-one for dust to get in
We had lots of books all over the place in Ayr, but they took up lots of room and we seldom lifted any to read. The computer as a reference base has somehow taken over with us - and is always much more up-to-date that any reference book.
So now, having 'downsized', all our books are in that glass door 'Minty' cabinet!
Exceptions though are books which really mean something to us - those written or given to us by friends, those special books no longer in print, and those which evoke happy memories of years gone by. The ones I refer to most regularly are my bird and garden books - and those small foreign language dictionaries we need to take on holidays!
The local library has an amazing assortment of fiction, and Glen positively gorges on the contents of its shelves!
Yet I still love to see those walls of leather-bound, gold-tooled books in stately homes and those stylish and practical 'book walls' in many houses on the continent......

Well, little Amy is due to stay at the weekend, and I know for certain that she'll fall asleep with not a cuddly toy - but either 'The Gingerbread Boy' or 'Scaredy Squirrel' in her arms!.gif "Big Grin")
Wonderful - I love to see kids enjoying books.
