Default Med Gull and B H Gull.

Here's the pic of the Mediterranean and Black - headed Gull. The blood red bill on the Med Gull is an excellent detail to look out for to separate from the B H Gull. The adult Med Gull is an all white bird apart from the black hood which really is black as opposed to the B H Gull's which is actually brown. The Med Gull here does have a little black in its wing tips - if you look closely at the pic when expanded which - makes it a sub adult.

I find it difficult to differentiate between these two gulls and the Little Gull in pics.

After all these BHGs (in autumn) have red bills....

I think it may be easier to tell the difference when you see them all together 'in the flesh' though.

Gulls confuse me at any time!
