Default Song Thrush - Turdus philomelos

..at least I thought it was. This was a quick shot through the window downstairs, and by the time I got upstairs and started to (carefully) open the window to get a better shot - the damned sparrows all landed en-masse and scared it off... and I was being so careful not to scare it off myself

I can't remember seeing one in my garden before, so I'm quite excited... even if it was only a short-lived visit.... if only Christmas family visits were as short

Lovely Song Thrush, and I guess that hunger is driving it your way!

I always recognise them by the arrows - or upside down hearts - pointing towards the beak!

(I know you aren't including Rolf in that last remark! We used to know an elderly, English lady who always said that it was wonderful to see her family, but even more wonderful when they left!)

To be fair, Catherine, I like my family... but why let that get in the way pf a good joke Of course, Rolf is a different matter - we haven't told him yet, but actually he was found at the bottom of the garden under a gooseberry bush so isn't really family... it explains a lot ;-)

You know you are going to be on the 'naughty list' after that, Louise?
