    Default Wasp

Wasp at work. It was very intent on what it was doing so didn't care about being photographed... although I snapped and retreated since discretion is the better part of valour!

I always have a few in my garden ,and the shed often gets one of their little paper nests. One year they made an enormous one in the roof. although I knew that were were a fair few around, I had no idea that there was such a big nest. It was up against the eaves and must have been the good part of a meter high. By the time it was discovered it was so late in the season I didn't have to do anything about it as they don't reuse nests. I was lucky, really since it was directly above my bedroom!!!
