Yes, saw one last year and was in awe of its size, particularly the wingspan. Also known as the flying barn door.

At first thought it might have been a Kite, but now think it looks like one of the Buzzard family, how about Rough-legged Buzzard - Buteo lagopus

Well it's definitely an Owl.
Not one we get in the UK, would be nice though. I think it's a Great Grey Owl, Strix bebulosa.
