No, it is not a rare SwedishChiffchaff lol
and not a throchilus
but You guys are getting closer, not that far away
As a small (but still) hint I can assure You that it is not from East

Not from the East? Caucasian Chiffchaff? Phylloscopus lorenzii. Not one we'd be likely to see in these parts though.
Marsh Warbler - Acrocephalus palustris ?
(At least that should rule out another one for you, Rolf!)
Well done !
Bergsångare Western Bonelli´s Warbler Phylloscopus bonelli
We do have them here! The Swedish word means that it is a mountain bird
OK. Well done, Rolf! (says she grudgingly!)
I've found this page which might help understand those letters at the foot of each pic in future;
Bird names translation Not that you'd ever need to use it of course, Rolf!
Ah, this means that I have to use numbers and number only, it will make it harder for me to remember but it will make that site useless for this game. Cheating is, however, allowed
Thnink we've got some confusion here, the Caucasian Warbler is Phylloscopus lorenzii, Berggransångare. Bonelli's Warbler or Western Bonelli's Warbler in some countries is Phylloscopus bonelli, Bergsångare, the latter will be found in Western Europe, the former is really a middle Eastern bird.
Yes, it is a western bonelli´s so I think it is sorted by now.
We can´t work with a bird for ages, can we ? Think they are rather look-a-like
Oh, yes we can, Crister!
When they get too easy for us, that's when you can give up - but that hasn't happened yet, has it?
Well, then let us see what this could be Please note the name of the jpg
12003, hmmm, is that the code for Montague's Harrier? Circus pygargus
So, You know that codex as well
Ängshök Montagu´s Harrier Circus pygargus
Well I know it is one of You fav birds so me think it was fairly easy.
Well done again !
Monday bird is a female !
Looks more like a young male, but I'll have a pop at Stonechat - Saxicola torquatus.
Well, it is a female and it is a Rubicola
Yes, it is a Rubicola for sure but , for sure, it is a Lady
Västlig svarthakad buskskvätta Stonechat ssp. hibernans Saxicola torquatus rubicola
Here is the male
.
That's a mature male, but we won't fall out about it.
The nest bird is a big one
I'll have a pop at Steppe Eagle, Aquila nipalensis.
Very kind of You Rolf, giving the girls a go
In other words, sorry but it is not.....
How about Spotted Eagle - Aquila clanga?
No its definitely not a clanga - they look like this

LOL, I was thinking of that as I typed it, great minds think alike. More like the Soup Dragon though.
Well, it is some kind of clanga
Större skrikörn Greater Spotted Eagle Aquila clanga
Took some time but, in the end, the right answer was posted. Well done
Hmm, I wonder when our friend Analoguesat will find the bird , perhaps the next one.
I hope this one will be a hard nut as I am on my way out to the Baltic Sea Monday morning !
Not that long time only for the day with a couple of friends (they support the boat)
How about Terek Sandpiper? Xenus cinereus
How about OK!
Tereksnäppa Terek Sandpiper Xenus cinereus
Well done Rolf
This bird is very rare in Sweden so it was a big surprise when it turned up in the Stockholm area
Hope that it is as rare in the UK
As You might notice - it is not only rare but shy as well. Good luck!
It looks like a Sedge warbler, but don't think they're rare in Sweden, Acrocephalus schoenobaenus.
That picture was not one of the best as it was a rare bird and the bird was a little bit shy
It is, of course, not a Sedge warbler.
Oh, goodie - so I can try!
I think it is an Aquatic Warbler - Acrocephalus paludicola
(And if it isn't, it looks mighty like one!)
Many birds in this class do look-a-like
Still this is not the answer I was expecting. This is a rare bird, at least in Sweden and the Stockholm area!
Perhaps this picture will help You ?
Well if it's the one it looks most like (there's quite a few with similar markings), it is well off track, as the closest match I can find in my books is a Paddyfield Warbler - Acrocephalus agricola.
You certainly wouldn't see many of those around here either, Rolf!
(Wondering where the nearest paddyfield is....)
I did say that it was a rare bird
Fältsångare Paddyfield Warbler Acrocephalus agricola
Well done Rolf
I guess it wasn't photographed in Sweden then, Crister?
Rolf, I should have expected something like that!
Which reminds me of something that really happened...
A (very posh) Glasgow friend told me she always added rice to her mince to make it go further with her family. When I said I didn't fancy that, she said I should, as it was a traditional Glasgow recipe. My reply was to the effect that it might have been a wartime necessity, but if it were really a traditional Glasgow recipe, where were there paddy fields near the city?
She didn't answer - but maybe it was those you refer to in Dublin!
Well, Catherine -all birds I present here are from Sweden (so far) and they have all been seen here.
So, it was a very rare bird - I can remember I had something even more rare some times back, think Rolf remember that.
This is a more common bird
