Well, I've a feeling that this is going to be 'very close' again, Crister, but I have to suggest

    Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) -

if, for no other reason, that allows Rolf to show how much more clever he is again!

    Many thanks, o' kind sir!

I wondered if 'evening prayer' might have been a clue, but I cannot think how.....

    - so I'll just have to try 'Little Kestrel' - Falco naumanni next....

(Now, to say that is right would make a lady really happy, Crister.
However, if you say it is not, then Rolf will need to look up his book again.....)

Well I think I know this one, but it's a difficult one as the picture is quite light. It's perhaps a Red-footed Falcon - Falco vespertinus.

You are SUCH a gentleman, Crister!

Now I DID know that the 'killer' was a White Tailed Sea Eagle, but I wasn't sure re. the Gull - and I thought you wanted both answers...., so.. now I'm just guessing that the intended dinner is a poor immature Great Black-backed Gull - Larus marinus ...

Now, please be still a gentleman and say I'm right!

Well, You have to wait for Monday as I fogot to post the right answer - it is still at work.
I am almost sure that it is a good answer (lol)

There is a story around this picture, the Eagle was scared away from a large number of crows - so it lost the dinner.

You are SO kind, Crister, but I think possibly one dead Gull is very like another - especially if it's a young one....

Well, today's now..... it's a Crossbill - of a type - but that's a difficult angle to judge head and beak size........... so I'll try the ordinary one first - Loxia curvirostra
