So then it has to be an Eagle or Hawk of sorts I suppose - but which one?
Difficult to see how much of a hook its very dark beak has..... and whether there are lighter shades on its chest.
I'll take time out at the mo' and have a look again later!

I think I'm stumped, Crister....
It doesn't have the yellow on the beak or the feather colouring of a Buzzard, and its feathers are definitely not right for a Golden Eagle, so unless it's a species found outwith our shores, I can't think what it is.
Will search further later.. Rolf, is it too hard for you too?
Have been having a look and the beak colour is difficult, but may be a trick of the light, if that is the case, the white strips on the tail feathers would perhaps indicate a White-tailed Eagle - Haliaeetus albicilla.
What white strips?

I see he has a metal ring, so is possibly quite a special bird though!

Well, I thought female Linnet - until I looked at the beak again, then 'warbler' came into mind - so I'm going for Marsh Warbler - Acrocephalus palustris
- Well, at least that will rule out another bird!

Well, this gal does anyway!
It looked a bit like a Chaffinch at first, but no wing markings, that tail shape and dark eye patch have confused.
It does seem to have a finch-type beak though.
Can I get any points for that?

But it is much prettier than a Dunnock, Rolf - and doesn't have a grey head!

(Couldn't see the eye stripe, but looked far too small for a Dunnock to me. Maybe the ones here are more butch in some ways!
