Yes and a bit pinkish though I believe they casn look pinkish . But a bit too much black really
I suppose it could be a rock nuthatch Sitta neumayer
On the other hand I think it might be a Northern Wheatear or Wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe)

Right You are Pete, well done
Ökenstenskvätta Oenanthe desert
Hmm, it was too easy for You guys, gotta find me a even harder nut next
So, here it is
Red Kite Milvus milvus
Pete.
Röd glada Milvus milvus
Again well done mate !
Do You have any mountains ?
If so, perhaps You seen this bird
Golden Eagle Aquila chrysaetos ?
No, this bird lives high up in the Swedish alps
I did think i was a Condor but they are native to the Andies
But it is more like to be a Hobby alco subbuteo ?
No, this is a medium(to small) raptor.
BTW The Swedish Alps are not that high but they are (usally) coverd in snow all time of the year. Great place for skiing and climbing.
Merlin Falco columbarius ?
Looks like a member of the 'buzzard' family but other than that......pass!
Pete.
Hmmmm. If it is then it's :
Buzzard Buteo buteo. Aves, Accipitriformes
Not a Northern Goshawk is it? Accipiter buteoides
Don't want to steal a 'digdeep' thread here but this is not a Common Buzzard or Goshawk Beryl/Rolf.
It's not a bird that has ever visited our shores that I'm aware of and I have a feeling it's best if I retract my suggestion of it being a member of the 'buzzard' family. In other words......I don't know what it is.
Pete.
Well I do know that Sweden has a Buzzard Buteo buteo. Aves, Accipitriformes
http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/j...02370/abstract
Dig said it is medium to small and as you say, definitely not of these shores.
How about a Rough-legged hawk buteo lagopus
Well 'digdeep' has certainly got us on the run with this one Beryl/Rolf but in summary I dont think it's anything suggested so far and the nearest I could suggest was buzzard sp but I'm just not totally happy with this at all and I'm beat, rhymes with......
Pete.
P.S.
I'm going to be very suprised if this bird has ever been recorded in the UK. Come on 'digdeep' we need you!
There are Honey Buzzards in Sweden. It is in the amber state and in There are wardened watch points in Devon and Norfolk. And it's breading places are kept secret
Butit spends the winter in Africa
Yes and to be perfectly honest Beryl this ID suggestion of yours is definitely the only one which could be correct.
Over to you 'digdeep' we're all dried up now.
Pete.
Nice to see You talking about this bird, I like that.
and , suddenly, the reasoning took the right way
Fjällvråk Buteo lagopus
Well done again
Rough legged Buzzard. Well done Rolf

It was the only one I could find with the dark flash through the eye.
Got this beautiful bird for You
Not that hard to find I guess
Looks like a Tawny Owl, Strix aluco
Great Grey Owl Strix nebulosa ?
It´s Strix all right
But that´s all (so far)
Yes, it is very gray
and not to big
Oh It could be
Barred owl Strix varia ?
Ahhh, must be the great Grey Owl - Strix Nebulosa then.
Lappuggla.
I already said lGreat Grey Owl Strix nebulosa ?
Sorry, didn't see that.
Most likely it's the Barred owl Strix varia ?
Nope, you'd already said that.
It is almost certainly a Ural Owl - Strix Uralensis
That was my last entry after the others that were wrong
as no one seams to go back and read things I entered it again
Well I saw that one.
Yes and it was the last which Dig hasn't answered yet
Barred owl Strix varia ?
I'm pretty sure it's http://www.thamesvalleybirds.co.uk/26083-post273.html
Yep OK.
Either that or an Albatross.
I'm with Ural Owl Strix uralensis.
Pete.
